The last two weeks of May was spent in southern Norway.
A trip to Jæren was a real highlight. A couple of Little Terns (dvergterne) was reported breeding this year. To protect it the breeding site was fenced to avoid disturbance, but the birds could be studied well on distance. Luckily one of the birds decided to have a territorial fight with a Ringed Plover just outside the fence and displayed beautifully for a photo shoot for about a minute!

Most of the migrants typical for southern Norway was in place, and we really enjoyed birds we don’t see regularly in the north.
