Driving from southern to northern Norway give some good opportunities to take shorter hikes in the mountains on the way. This June we made stops in Saltfjellet in Nordland and at Orkelsjøen in Trøndelag.
Saltfjellet offered a handfull of very cooperative Dotterels and nice, singing Snow Buntings

Orkelsjøen has a good selection of vader. Ringed Plowers and Temminck Stints where displaying nicely along the road.

Bluethroats are common on Saltfjellet, and males can be found singing in the vegetation along the main road.
