In Mid-June we arranged and guided a 12-day tour for guests from USA and England. Starting in Oslo, we took off for four days in Lofoten and another four days in Varanger. Here are some highlights from the trip.

In Lofoten the Sea-eagle safari was a highlight. At first Herring Gulls (gråmåker) are attracted to the boat, telling the eagles something is coming up.

The White-tailed Eagles (havørn) waiting at a small island to be fed herring.

Black-tailed Godwit (svarthalespove) is a rare but regular bird in the wetlands near Leknes.

In Varanger a visit to the bird cliffs at Hornøya give an unique opportunity to study the seabirds at close range.

Gannets (havsule) have recently established a new colony just off Hornøy.
