Summing up the winter in Lofoten

When it comes to birding, it has been a rather normal winter in Lofoten. King Eiders, Iceland and Glacous Gulls in moderate appearance, good numbers of Great Northern and Yellow-billed divers.

We enjoyed some nice encounters with White-tailed Eagles, Willow Ptarmigans and Dippers.

The Oystercatchers returned according to schedule in March, followed by other early migrants.

Kittiwakes establishing their territories in the colonies marks the transmission from winter to spring.
